Juno Cabernet Shiraz Merlot 2007

Like the previous vintage, this wine is absolutely wonderful for its price point. On the nose I get an intense beam of dark, jammy fruit with herbal overtones (sage) and violets (similar to petite sirah, but no blueberry). In the mouth the wine is medium-bodied with excellent acidity in the midpalate and a nice finish. Nice dark cassis flavors abound with hints of ground coriander seed and clove. At about $11, this wine is hard to beat. And it's from South Africa!

You can find it at Sunflower Market on Speedway or at Catavinos on Alvernon.

My score: 87
