Steak House Cabernet by the Magnificent Wine Company is one of those wines that you should seriously consider graduating to if you are one of those folks who enjoys Cabernet Sauvignon and would like to give up the cheaper, more-syrupy wines of companies like Yellow Tail and Barefoot Cellars. It all depends on where you are in your evolution as a wine enthusiast. This wine has a classic nose on it, no manky koolaid fruit but real fruit with some nuance including menthol and just a hint of barnyard coated in oaky vanilla. Really quite nice. In the mouth the wine is uncomplicated and true to the varietal with light tannin and medium extraction which contribute to the wine's overall quaffability. Low alcohol is a plus at 13.5 percent. A balanced wine with decent acidity that would pair well with red meat or a variety of cheeses. Also fine by itself.
My score: 88
